The Gunmakers Arms in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter has been saved through being purchased by the Two Towers brewery!

The historic tavern’s lease was bought by another local brewery in the Jewellery Quarter. It is due to be reopened next month, the brewery’s first pub to stock all of its beers. The building is a Grade II listed building and dates back to roughly 1820.

Owner of the Two Towers, Mark Arnott-Job commented on the act: “There was an option of converting the pub into accommodation so we are glad to keep it going as a pub. We had to reapply for a licence but we hope to change its recent poor history.

We will keep the character of the pub and the building as it is but refurbish and enhance it – it’s a lovely old place. We supply quite a few pubs in Birmingham but the frustration we have had is that they only stock one or two of our ales. This is an opportunity for us to have our first dedicated outlet and to get all our beers out there.

Six of the Two Tower’s popular beers will be sold in The Gunmakers’ Arms including: Baskerville Bitter, Bhacker Ackhams, Chamberlain Pale Ale, Complete Muppetry, Hockley Gold and Jewellery Porter.
