It has now just turned June, meaning its pretty much summer. It’s time for our monthly review of all things JQ. With exciting developments and new openings in the area, here’s what’s kept the JQ buzzing in May of 2018…

What’s New?

This past month brand new and exciting happenings have occurred in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, but the most exciting has been with the opening of The Rebel Chicken and Arch 13!

Rebel Chicken

The Rebel Chicken is a brand new rotisserie chicken restaurant and cocktail bar, and let us start off by saying how amazing it is. All the food is freshly prepared and the chicken is cooked to a near perfect degree. They start off by steaming it, then marinate it and cook it on their own bespoke charcoal rotisserie. They pride themselves on how unique their food is, from the coal which is imported from Cuba and the wood in the rotisserie is Sweet Cherry. We had the pleasure to visit The Rebel for a pre-opening event, you can read about what we thought in more detail here.

Arch 13 at Connolly’s

Now, anyone whos been around the Jewellery Quarter, well to be honest anyone who’s been to Birmingham and is a lover of wine will know Connolly’s wine merchants. As mentioned in our last blog, we spoke about how Connolly’s is opening up a wine bar within the store. They wanted to offer intimate wine tasting and pairing experience. Well, now Arch 13 has finally opened! Arch 13 can be found at the front of Connolly’s Wine Shop, nestled underneath the arches in Livery Street in the Jewellery Quarter on 220 Livery Street.
