Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter has a wide range of pubs and bars that are perfect to have a night out! Check out our favourite cocktail places in the area.

The Church Inn

Cocktails

The Church Inn is a a traditional pub with modern elements and beautifully stained windows that serve delicious cocktails. If you are unsure of what you want, the bartenders are happy to mix something special just for you. In the summer, it is worth visiting the rooftop to enjoy a Santa Dominga Bru or a Summer Unicorn in the sun! If you get hungry, they also have a variety of tasty dishes that are all influenced by New Orleans.

You can find their website here: The Church Inn

Ana Rocha

Ana Rocha is located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter and is unique in its way as it has a gallery that you can visit on your way to the bar and restaurant. Its antique flair makes it a great place to sip on a Cosmopolitan or another one of their creative cocktails that are equally as impressive as their setting.

Upstairs Downstairs – sadly closed now

Probably one of the most mysterious places in Birmingham, Upstairs Downstairs’ secret location and schedule make it hard to find but once you have managed to get in, it’s definitely worth it! You’ll instantly get the feeling of being in an old speakeasy bar with its wooden-platted walls and chandeliers.

The perfect recommendation for a hot Spring/Summer day is without doubt the “Coa de Jima”, which is a tasty combination of Tapatio Tequila and Grapefruit.

You can pre-book a table on Facebook: Upstairs Downstairs.

40 St. Paul’s

40 St Paul's

If you are more the gin-type then 40 St. Paul’s is unquestionably the right place for you. With more than 140 different gin types, they are rightly dubbed The Best Gin Bar in Birmingham. All their gins are hand-picked carefully and mixed to make the best Gin and Tonics, and other tasty cocktails. We highly recommend the ‘St Paul’s Smash’, because it just tastes like summer! This is also a nice opportunity to experience a G&T tasting with your friends as they offer full table service and a flavour matching service.
