In the Jewellery Quarter, we do a lot of things right.

We’re home to some of the best restaurants, bars and cafés in the city (if we do say so ourselves). Alongside the most wonderful independent florists, beauticians and wedding dress shops to match.

But, there’s just one thing that no one can come to close to beating us on. And that’s our jewellers.

Well, we’re not called the ‘Jewellery’ Quarter for nothing, you know?

Did you know, we manufacture over one quarter of all the jewellery made in the UK, alongside being home to Europe’s largest School of Jewellery.

Which may be the reason as to why we caught the attention of the BBC, when looking for the perfect location for its latest talent search show.

Hosted by comedian, Katherine Ryan, ‘All That Glitters’ is set to be our newest TV obsession.

The BBC has shown off the best singers, bakers, makeup artists and dancers. And now it’s our time to *shine*.

The six part series, which will air on BBC Two, will see eight jewellery designers battle it out to win the coveted ‘All That Glitters’ crown.

Each hour-long episode is filmed in a purpose-built workshop in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, with the inspiring designers being set new challenges each week.

With years of experience under their belts, the designers will need to take on ‘The Best Seller’ and ‘The Bespoke’ challenges.

The first will see them take on the task of creating a jewellery piece that appeals to the masses, whilst the latter will see them take on a brief for a client who needs a statement piece for a special occasion.

With the artistry and artistic flair set to blow us all away, what better place to hold the show, in one of Birmingham’s longstanding creative hubs.

Although dates of filming and broadcast have yet to be announced, we can’t wait to welcome the BBC to Jewellery Quarter and see the future talent on the jewellery scene.

Stay tuned for updates on when the show will begin on our Facebook page.
