Fellows Auctioneers have opened a purpose built office space, just around the corner from the company’s headquarters on Augusta Street.
Whilst their weekly auctions will be continued at Augusta Street, eighteen members of staff from Fellows Watches, Silver, Marketing and Photography departments have now moved into the new premises on 49 Frederick Street!
Stephen Whittaker, their managing director, said: “As Fellows continues to expand both the number of auctions it holds and the service it provides to its clients, we needed to expand our office accommodation for some of our specialist departments, including our photographic team.
“An imaginative design has produced a spectacular interior for our staff whilst setting a standard externally for other buildings that are being renovated in this important conservation area.”
The brand new premises is the result of an ambitious nine month renovation project, involving the bespoke conversion of the Georgian town house and Victorian workshops at the rear of the building.
The mezzanine beams, with exposed steel, (as shown above) house the watch department for cataloguing and photography of over seven thousand watches for sale, each year.
The photography department houses floor to ceiling windows, that allow natural light to flood into the room, along with plenty extra space for specialist 360 degree photography equipment, and a separate dark room facility.
Fellows marketing team of four are based in a spacious office overlooking the watch department, with the top floor converted into a meeting room, as formerly mentioned.
