Living on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter, Connolly’s Wine Merchants is closing shortly for refurbishment.

Connolly’s is one of Birmingham’s long-established family-owned wine merchants situated under the historic railway arches on the fringes of the Quarter, Livery Street.
It is set to close today with the intention of taking that step into the major refurbishment.

The prospects for the redevelopment will see disappearance of the false ceiling allowing the exquisite arches to show, and the office area is set to transform into a specialist beer selection, thus meaning the counter will need to move.
Connolly’s is expected to be closed for a fortnight while the above work is under taken.

Owner of the business, Chris Connolly, established Connolly’s in 76, saying that the building hadn’t had many alterations since their move two decades ago.
Connolly’s also has a business set up in Solihull, Dovehouse Parade.

Chris commented on the refurbishment: “It will offer a much better experience for customers and for people at our corporate tastings.”
